I am pleased to say that I have secured a deal to continue to ride for the Sheffield Tigers for next season 2011.  I am very pleased about this and look forward to a new season.

I am hoping that I can start 2011 where I left off at the end of this season - scoring points and earning money!

I have got good engine set up now and I am already looking towards next year in preparation with the bikes.

My aim to to increase my average by at least 2 points next year.

Due to the economic climate,  I have unfortunately lost a major sponsorship deal for next season so if anyone could possibly help with any sponsorship I would be more than grateful.  Even if a few fans want to club together to sponsor so much a point, or tyres, oil etc. - it all helps.

I am booked to ride in the Shorttrack event being held at Braintree, Essex on 27th December.  Its an  indoor event hosted by my mentor, Peter Boast, who first helped me to get into speedway at the age of 10. It  would be nice to see a few familiar faces so come and have a look.  There is certainly a good strong line up of Champions.  Check it out on Short track Uk.com  it starts at 1pm.

Have a good Christmas and Happy New Year.  See you soon..

Now that the 2010 season has come to an end its time to make plans for 2011.

2010 started off pretty rotten for me, I couldn't make the scores, I didn't know what the trouble was and spent loads of time and money in trying to find a solution to the problem.

When I was released from the Scunthorpe Scorpions team I was pleased to accept an offer to ride for the Sheffield Tigers.  I joined the Tigers at the end of June, joined up with Glyn Taylor to tune my engines and things seemed to go from strength to strength from there.  | started getting double figure scores and my confidence started to soar (and the pay packets!).

Its just a pity that it came towards the end of the season but I have proved that I can do it.

I was chuffed to win the Golden Hammer meeting at Wolverhampton at the end of September but absolutely gutted to miss out on winning the National League Riders Championship at Rye House on 30th October.  After 4 straight wins I had almost 'got it in the bag' but fell in my last ride and was relegated to 2nd spot on the podium. I fell rather hard and squarely onto my left hip and thigh.  It is still causing me some discomfort but it could have been worse.

I don't know where I will be riding next year as nothing is confirmed until after the PL meeting next week.  When I know I will let you know.

Finally a big thank you to my family - especially mum and dad who have helped me out enormously this year.
A big thank you to all my sponsors who have stayed loyally with me.  Your sponsorship really is a big help and is very much appreciated.  Whether its a £1 a point, a tyre, oil or whatever it all makes such a difference.

That's all from me for now have a good rest, get your batteries charged for March 2011 and in between time have a very good Christmas and New Year.

Cheers

Things seem to be going really well for me at the moment. I have had a brilliant week.  On Tuesday 28th I won the Golden Hammer Trophy meeting at Wolverhampton with 5 straight wins.  This gave me a mega confidence boost.

Then on Thursday 30th at Sheffield we had a mountain to climb to pull back the 28 point lead that Edinburgh had achieved in the first leg but the team all pulled together and we did it winning on aggregate by two points. I had my best Premier League score for a long time with 11+4 points.  What a cracker of a meeting and the atmosphere was electric.

I guested for Scunthorpe last night against Somerset and scored 9+1 so I am very pleased with the way things are going at the moment just a pity things have come right at the end of the season and not the beginning.  Buy hey that's speedway.  With rained off meetings October is going to be a very busy month getting all the meetings in before the month end.  Bring it on.

Things are really looking up now.  I am pleased that I am scoring double figures in my last 3 Premier League matches. I have had 2 guest bookings for Somerset and scored paid 10 both times.  Scoring 13 at Redcar last night really gave me a boost.

I have got a full 2 weeks coming up before the season finishes so lets hope that my form can continue.

I m settling in with my new team mates at Sheffield and now racing with no pressure on my shoulders.  I am getting better scores and knocking in double figure scores in the National League meetings I am doing for Kings Lynn.  So my confidence has improved and can only get better.

It was a long ride home from Plymouth on Friday night but made all the better by scoring 16 out of the teams total of 36.  The track there has really improved and become a lot smoother.

I have got a busy time ahead and August will be a busy month.  But first we meet Newport at Sheffield on Thursday in the Premier League and then I race against Newport at Kings Lynn in the National League on Sunday.

See you there.

I am pleased to say that I have now agreed to ride for the Sheffield Tigers.  I came close to riding for them last year  as everything had been agreed with Kings Lynn and then circumstances changed and I went to Scunthorpe.

I have made several guest appearances for Sheffield in the last couple of years and I really like the  track.

I think a change of club will be good for me and I can rebuild my confidence quickly and fit into the reserve berth.  I am still going to ride National League for Kings Lynn as and when the matches fit in.

My debut meeting is Thursday 1st July against Rye House.  So when you come and watch the Tigers in action please come and say hello.

I am  sorry to say that I have lost my team place with the Scunthorpe Scorpions and have been  released from their 1 - 7 squad.  I have seen this coming but I honestly have tried everything to improve my performance, I have not just sat back and thought 'it will be ok' I have fought to improve my scores.

I am sorry this has happened but I fully understand the reasons behind it.  My form has not been good enough this year and therefore  I have been released.

I would like to thank Gail and Rob Godfrey for giving me the opportunity to ride for the Scorpions for the last season  and a half.  They are great people and have done wonders at Scunthorpe Speedway. Its certainly a great club to ride for and to be involved with. I would also like to thank the fans that have supported me at each meeting and a big thank you to the members of the STING Fund who have helped me with bike repair bills when funds have been low.

My immediate future lies in the National League riding for Kings Lynn and also working for the family business.  I will then take it from there.

See you soon

I am struggling to score points in the Premier League at the moment and as my average has dropped below 4 I have now agreed to ride for Kings Lynn in the National League for a while.  I am hoping that this will restore some of the confidence I have lost which will then hopefully benefit Scunthorpe when riding in the Premier League.

Believe me I have tried so hard to get it right in the last few weeks changing different things on the bikes but I now have to work at the confidence building side.

Anyway tonight I rode for Kings Lynn against Weymouth and scored 17 points from 6 rides which makes me feel a whole lot better.  Lets hope I can keep this points scoring going and get back to getting high points for Scunthorpe in the Premier League.

28.3.10
I have to apologise to the fans and followers for my result at Scunthorpe on Friday night.  I rode at Kings Lynn on the Wednesday in the Ashley Jones Memorial Meeting  and scored paid 9 - but I took a heavy fall and bruised my ribs.  I also hurt my back and jarred the arm I broke a couple of years ago.  I was in great pain but decided to ride through it.  I also had the gremlins in the machinery in my first race.  It just wasn't my night.

Anyway its a night I want to forget - particularly as it was against Malcolm's team Stoke - so I am now looking forward to the three meetings over the Easter weekend starting off at Birmingham Thursday, Stoke Friday and then at Scunthorpe Easter Monday.

18.3.10
Well its all systems go now as the first match of the season approaches.  We had a good press and practice day at Scunthorpe on Tuesday.  Everyone had worked hard to get the track ready after all the wet weather and my bikes felt good.   After lunch with the team we all  finished the day off  with a blast round at a go karting circuit near Newark.

So the first match of the season is against Sheffield tomorrow night and then next Wednesday I am riding in the Ashley Jones Memorial Meeting at Kings Lynn.  This is always a good meeting and attracts a good line up in memory of Ashley.

Three more matches after that next week so I am really fired and up for it.

If you come along to any of the matches please come and find me and say hello.

4.3.10
I had a skid at Scunthorpe at the weekend and although the track was not perfect it was good to just get the feel of the bike again. The few laps blew the cobwebs away.

I am really looking forward to the start of the season this year with new bikes, covers, kevlars and van.

A big thank you to my sponsors who have again been brilliant and agreed to help me in 2010 season.   I know it is not an easy time for a lot of businesses at the moment but I really cant stress enough how much it helps.

I am still looking for a tyre and oil sponsor so if anyone thinks they can help with this - in any way - please get in touch via this website or ring me.

See you at the press and practice.

23.1.10
I have been working hard on my bikes and getting them ready for the start of the new 2010 season.

I am getting my new bike covers and mudguards soon and when I get them and get them on the bikes I am ready to go for a practice.  The rain  is not helping and the sooner we get rid of all the wet weather and I can get out on the track it will be better.
